People of the Americas is a growing series of intimate portraits, celebrating the beautiful diversity of people across North, Central, and South America. I chose to shoot this series in black and white to remove color and focus instead on our shared humanity. I strongly believe that we are more similar than we are different. When the portraits are brought together and shown as a whole, what shines through is simply the human spirit.
Each person photographed in this series is a new friend I met along the journey. We all come from different backgrounds, schools of thought, religious beliefs, and political views. Yet we managed to enjoy our time together, sharing laughter, food, drinks, stories, and above all – friendship.
