Our mission is to create art highlighting the challenges, diversity, and shared humanity of peoples across the Americas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aboard a school bus converted into an art and recording studio, we are traveling 30,000 miles across North, Central, and South America.  We are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Creating a vast portfolio of visual art and music inspired by the peoples and landscapes of the Americas<\/li><li>Connecting with communities through the facilitation of <a href=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/category\/murals\/\">community murals<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/category\/workshops\/\">songwriting workshops<\/a><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2796 aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Art-We-There-Yet-Route-300dpi.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1000\" height=\"626\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Art-We-There-Yet-Route-300dpi.png 1000w, https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/Art-We-There-Yet-Route-300dpi-768x481.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1000px) 100vw, 1000px\" \/><\/figure><\/h5>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-heading\">WHY?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Because art is powerful.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are using the arts to illustrate the <strong>strength in our diversity<\/strong>, and to emphasize our <strong>shared humanity<\/strong>. Our work directly draws from exposure to new sights, new people, and experiencing the different realities lived by humans across the world. We also believe <strong>everyone deserves access to the arts<\/strong>, so we are providing arts programming in communities that need it the most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-heading\">CREATIVE COMPONENTS OF THE PROJECT<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong> Jos\u00e9 is creating:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>A series of photographic portraits highlighting our shared humanity<\/li><li>A series of paintings inspired by the journey<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cora is creating:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>An album recorded with musicians along the way, blending diverse genres<\/li><li>A series of songs built from soundscapes captured across the Americas<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Together we are:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Painting murals and teaching workshops in communities along the way<\/li><li>Producing a series of short experimental films inspired by the Americas<\/li><li>Producing a documentary film, book, and gallery exhibit to be distributed after the journey ends in Argentina<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-left wp-block-heading\">ARTIST RESIDENCY<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Art We There Yet also provides a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"free artist residency (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/artist-residency\/\" target=\"_blank\">free artist residency<\/a>.  The studio bus is a unique creative space, and this should be shared.
