We do these guides completely for free, so these links are the only way we get a little something back (except for the satisfaction of knowing we helped\u00a0<em>you<\/em>\u00a0build your dream skoolie, of course!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don\u2019t have Amazon Prime yet?\u00a0<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/tryprimefree?ref_=assoc_tag_ph_1427739975520&amp;_encoding=UTF8&amp;camp=1789&amp;creative=9325&amp;linkCode=pf4&amp;tag=artwethereyet-20&amp;linkId=74f461080ddf921de48118000bf197db\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Here\u2019s a link for 30 days free.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator is-style-wide\"\/>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP 1: &nbsp;Remove the Metal Liner<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The metal liner is screwed through the rubber and into the plywood (not through the metal floor)<\/li><li>Wack each screw a few times with a hammer (this helps prevent stripping)<\/li><li>Unscrew with the power drill<\/li><li>Pull up stubborn screws with the pry bar<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP 2: Remove the Rubber<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Fit the pry bar in a loose space between the plywood and rubber<\/li><li>Use the pry bar to pull up the rubber, it will come up fairly easily with if you use a long (3ft) pry bar<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP 3: Remove the Plywood<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Use the pry bar as leverage to pull the plywood up from the metal floor, the nails will remain behind<\/li><li>Use the pry bar to pull up the nails (wear your safety glasses!)<\/li><li>Use the angle grinder to cut off the nails that you can&#8217;t get up with the pry bar<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">STEP 4: Remove the In-Floor Tracking<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Get ready for a lot of work. &nbsp;This step took us three days; you will need two people for the job.<\/li><li>Clean inside the heads of the tracking screws with a nail so that there is no gunk inside.<\/li><li>Have someone go underneath the bus and hold the screw&#8217;s locker nut in place with a wrench. &nbsp;This is key. &nbsp;If someone is not holding the nut in place, the screw-nut-washer will simply spin in place.<\/li><li>While the person underneath holds the nut steady, the person inside the bus will use the power drill to unscrew the bolt.<\/li><li>Use the angle grinder to cut the tracking into 4-6 feet sections, then use&nbsp;the pry bar to pull the tracking up<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>There will be sections where you can&#8217;t reach the nut from underneath the bus. &nbsp;There will also be some screws that simply won&#8217;t come up. &nbsp;In these cases:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Use the angle grinder to cut both the screw and tracking in half (diagram below). &nbsp;Make one cut that halves the screw and completely cuts through the tracking, going down to the rubber but not into the metal bus floor below.<\/li><li>Use the pry bar to pull the tracking up.<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/School-Bus-Floor-Tracking-Removal-01.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEXT STEP:<\/strong> &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/2018\/10\/20\/prepping-bus-floor-painting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Treating the rust on the floor (opens in a new tab)\">Treating the rust on the floor<\/a>!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-flow wp-block-group-is-layout-flow\">\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-css-opacity is-style-wide\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>&lt;&lt;
