{"id":2873,"date":"2019-02-01T04:49:07","date_gmt":"2019-02-01T04:49:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/?p=2873"},"modified":"2022-02-24T18:00:14","modified_gmt":"2022-02-25T00:00:14","slug":"360-tour-school-bus-conversion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/360-tour-school-bus-conversion\/","title":{"rendered":"Midway Through our Skoolie Conversion"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Here is our 360 tour of the Art We There Yet bus, while it was still in the conversion process.&nbsp; Often called skoolies, watching converted school bus tours can be quite a rabbit hole to go down!&nbsp; We didn&#8217;t realize converting buses was so popular until we were in this process!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This tour is a bit unique, as you can see the bus while it&#8217;s still in process.&nbsp; You can follow along as we explain the vision, seeing the bus looking pretty much like&#8230;well, an empty school bus!&nbsp; Here you can see the <a href=\"http:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/2018\/11\/12\/bus-conversion-floor-plan\/\">floor-plan<\/a> that we are about to start building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/b1gRLz1x0aU\" width=\"760\" height=\"415\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More about this particular school bus:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>2001 International, Thomas built<\/li><li>DT466E engine with an Allison transmission (automatic)<\/li><li>66 passengers<\/li><li>Came with a lift at the front end<\/li><li>Came from St. John&#8217;s School District near Jacksonville, Florida.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We chose a Florida bus for a few key reasons.&nbsp; First, no rust.&nbsp; Not a lot of winter and salt on the roads in Florida!&nbsp; Second, not a lot of hills in Florida.&nbsp; This means less stress on the engine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Third, we knew we were going to convert the bus in Florida and we didn&#8217;t want to spend oogles of money driving it cross country with all the legal headache involved.&nbsp; (Before conversion, a school bus is still registered&#8230;well.. as a school bus!
