The first from the night we wrote it, sixteen years ago.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DbqVqvLz2Qw\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen=\"\"><\/iframe><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Song of the Past<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A song of the past indeed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I first starting traveling to Nashville when I was fourteen.&nbsp; My choir teacher, Peter Engh, put me in contact with a management team in Nashville.&nbsp; A few months later, I signed on with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/sharon-dennis-39363924\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Dennis Management (opens in a new tab)\">Dennis Management<\/a> &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.allmusic.com\/artist\/matt-timm-mn0001420494?1585416157719\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Matt Timm Music (opens in a new tab)\">Matt Timm Music<\/a> under an artist development contract.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Step one was to get to writing!&nbsp;<\/strong> Sharon and Matt set up many co-writing sessions, and one of them happened to be with Dave Brainard.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dave is a world-class producer, and at the time he was writing with a publishing company and also producing album and demo projects on the side.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We got together one evening, and &#8220;What Your Love Is Doing&#8221; just flowed out.&nbsp; It was a stormy night, perhaps that aided in the flow?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dave could produce demos fast, so we recorded a quick demo then and there.&nbsp; Well, I ended up loving it so much, that it made its way to the album <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Turn The World (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/store\/Turn-The-World-Digital-Album-p129153446\" target=\"_blank\">Turn The World<\/a> without ever being re-recorded!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fast forward <em><strong>sixteen<\/strong><\/em> years.&nbsp; <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"Dave is now a grammy-nominated producer (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/www.decibelnashville.com\/bio\" target=\"_blank\">Dave is now a grammy-nominated producer<\/a> who has worked with some of the best in country music.&nbsp; Me, well, I\u2019m a lady in a bus with as lofty dreams as ever!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jos\u00e9 and I made a drive-by through Nashville on the Art We There Yet journey.  We <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" aria-label=\"met up with old friends (opens in a new tab)\" href=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/2020\/03\/26\/four-friends-in-a-bus-nashville-tn\/\" target=\"_blank\">met up with old friends<\/a>, made some new ones, and soaked up a bit of Nashville.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And Dave and I met up to record &#8220;What Your Love Is Doing&#8221; for the first time since that blustery night in 2003.  <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There are only two recordings of me and Dave performing this song together.
