This performance was recorded in Alabama in 2019.  This post has been scheduled for one month as we finished editing this video.  And it was scheduled to post today.  This morning as we awoke to more news about riots across the USA, the symbolism of this coincidence is not lost on us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Grey&#8221; is a song about not being ignorant to the true reality of injustices in the world.  It is a warning to avoid building a scaffolding in ones own mind that makes one blind to the true nature of our social, economic, and judicial systems.  In a perfect world, moral and judicial codes would apply evenly, across the board, in every situation.  But this is not so.  In order to work towards a better world, the first step is to acknowledge this.  To see it and not turn a blind eye.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our Pass Through Guntersville, Alabama<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We love to tell the story of our experience in Guntersville, Alabama.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We had just finished our <a href=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/mural-for-school\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">school mural at New Market School<\/a>, and were driving south to Birmingham.&nbsp; We avoid highways because we enjoy seeing more of the country, plus the bus cannot go highway speeds anyway.&nbsp; So we were driving through small town after small town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we were driving through <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/guntersvilleal.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Guntersville<\/a>, our interest was peaked.&nbsp; A beautiful little town tucked up right next to a reservoir on the Tennessee River.&nbsp; We decided to stay there for a few nights, and found a quiet spot near a boat ramp to park.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are used to receiving messages here and there on social media; folks seeing the bus and sending us a quick \u201chi\u201d.&nbsp; It was no different in Guntersville.&nbsp; We received a few welcomes and hellos. &nbsp;Then a <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/arnold-montgomery-improvisation\/\" target=\"_blank\">random string of events<\/a> led to one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/CA1SoulJdEC\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">most amazing parking spots to date<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next morning, we woke up to 360 degree water views and our phones <em>filled<\/em> with notifications.&nbsp; Overnight, a drone photo we posted had reached 45,000 people in the area and we were inundated with comments.&nbsp; Not a single one was negative.&nbsp; Rather, the thread was filled with welcomes, praise for the project, and recommendations for places to go in town.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The next few days we enjoyed making friends and getting to know Guntersville.&nbsp; We shared meals, stories, and laughter.&nbsp; We visited neighboring <a href=\"https:\/\/www.arabcity.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arab<\/a> and saw an amazing Christmas light show.&nbsp; We played a concert at a local spot and opened up the bus for tours.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And the day before departing, we went to a spot just along the river to create this song from the road.
