A multi-age group of dear friends who nearly count as family, I didn&#8217;t need to work on getting everyone comfortable sharing ideas here!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We started by looking at the song like a three-layered cake: chords, lyrics, and melody.  The students then worked together so beautifully to craft this little tune.  They went from zero to a produced recording &#8211; in just a few short hours!  The chord progression, lyrics, and melody of this song is entirely their collaborative creation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Our visit with The Art Factory<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.theartfactoryswla.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Art Factory<\/a> is located in Lake Charles, Louisiana.  We passed through on our way out from New Orleans, where we spent a month in post-production and filming our first experimental film.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our time with The Art Factory was wonderful.  I conducted this songwriting workshop, and Jos\u00e9 also did a photography workshop for the grown-ups!  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We were so inspired by the vim and vigor of the Art Factory community!  From ceramics, to painting, to screen printing, and everything in between &#8211; the arts abound in this space!
