Our plan was to drive north and stop to film sections of &#8220;Wanderer&#8221; along the way.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our friend <a href=\"http:\/\/creating those inner frames that touched the outside of the bus frame as little as possible.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lucas<\/a> had recommended an interesting spot in Catavi\u00f1a.  We know better than to pass on a good recommendation so off we went.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"608\" src=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Art-We-There-Yet-in-Catavin\u0303a-Baja.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Art-We-There-Yet-in-Catavin\u0303a-Baja.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Art-We-There-Yet-in-Catavin\u0303a-Baja-585x329.jpg 585w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes when we arrive in a place, some aspect of its nature just kicks our creative gears into action.  The moment I saw the dilapidated, grungy, graffiti-covered dome, I knew,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote has-text-align-left is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>&#8220;Oh this isn&#8217;t a location for &#8220;Wanderer&#8221;..this has &#8220;Chan Chan&#8221; written all over it.&#8221;<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"719\" src=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Catavina-baja-dome-desert-landscape-jose-luis-vilchez.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5302\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Catavina-baja-dome-desert-landscape-jose-luis-vilchez.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Catavina-baja-dome-desert-landscape-jose-luis-vilchez-585x389.jpg 585w, https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/Catavina-baja-dome-desert-landscape-jose-luis-vilchez-263x175.jpg 263w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No sooner had we parked the bus that Jos\u00e9 Luis was out with the drone, inspired in his own way to capture the landscape.  This was one of the most remote places we camped in Baja, and that yielded an extra special treat for the photographer among us&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The night sky.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1080\" height=\"720\" src=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/art-we-there-yet-skoolie-bus-night-sky-milky-way.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5301\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/art-we-there-yet-skoolie-bus-night-sky-milky-way.jpg 1080w, https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/art-we-there-yet-skoolie-bus-night-sky-milky-way-585x390.jpg 585w, https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/art-we-there-yet-skoolie-bus-night-sky-milky-way-263x175.jpg 263w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We only stayed a few days in Catavi\u00f1a, as its remote location also meant there was zero cell signal.  But in our few days there, we captured <a href=\"https:\/\/artwethereyet.com\/blog\/the-story-behind-wanderer\/\">walking shots for &#8220;Wanderer&#8221;<\/a>, those amazing night sky images, and <em>all<\/em> the footage for &#8220;Chan Chan&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In contrast to the other videos so far, &#8220;Chan Chan&#8221; features just one location.  This felt right somehow.  Sometimes the flavor of a place matches the so song perfectly, that including other scenes would somehow dilute the potency of their combination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The creative instincts said to leave this one simple.
