Be part of a beautiful project. We jumped in on one of I Am Herd Mustang Sanctuary‘s programs, and oh my, is this collaboration what we all need right now.
So here’s what we did. We zoomed with a group of elementary students in North Carolina, and together they wrote this song. The song is a gift from them to residents of a nursing home in their community.
We are recording as we speak, recording student voices one-by-one. And it would be amazing to bring together voices from across the country to join in singing this message! How beautiful would that be?
You’ll Need:
- Your phone
- A pair of earbuds
- A borrowed phone (or computer/iPad)
Steps:
- On the borrowed phone, listen (with headphones) to the audio clip below.
- Record your singing using the voice memo app on your phone. Try to be in a really quiet place, please! See the FAQ for how to make the audio even cleaner.
- Email or text the voice memo recording to Cora at [email protected] or 954-928-6167. Send no later than THU, DEC 17.
AUDIO CLIP
Sing along to each “I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish you peace”.
Counts are added to make it easier to know when to start
Feeling Ambitious?
If you’re up for it, sing along to the whole song! (Optional)
I wish you peace, I wish you love
I wish you joy, I wish you peace
I wish you happiness, I wish you grace
I wish you ease, I wish you peace
Hey hey, hey hey
Don’t be afraid
You’re far away
But I’m here to say
I wish I wish I wish I wish you peace
Hey hey, hey hey
Don’t be afraid
You’re far away
But I’m here to say
I wish I wish I wish I wish you peace
I wish I wish I wish I wish you peace
I wish I wish I wish I wish you peace
Nope! The most important one is just singing along to “I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish you peace”.
I’m glad you asked, because this will make my life easier!
To make the audio even cleaner, attach earbuds to your phone as well and sing close to the microphone of those headphones. The idea is to reduce background noise as much as possible. When you sing quietly, have the headphone mic about 4 inches from your mouth. When you sing loudly, have it about 1 ft away.
Also record in as quiet a space as possible!
And finally, send the files to me via email rather than text. Sometimes texting compresses files, which reduces quality. If you email the files, we avoid that risk.
If you want to use a different recording device, that’s great. As long as you are able to email or text me the files of you singing, we’re happy.
Yes, absolutely! Please do!
YES! That would be amazing and wonderful and oh so beautiful!
Send me your recordings by 11pm CST on THURSDAY, DEC 17. Email to [email protected] or text to 954-928-6167.
If you have an iPhone, here’s what you do. After you record, the file will go into your Voice Memos. Click the three dots in the lower left corner of the file. Click ‘share’. Click ‘Messages’. Enter my phone number in the “To” section.
